Proofreading rates

My rates are competitive and within industry guidelines, according to the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA); rates are by the word, page, or project. I will be happy to give you a no-obligation price quote before any work begins. Be assured your project will be completed in a timely manner, according to your needs. Expedited projects have a higher rate. 

By word: $0.011

By page, based on maximum 250-word page count: $3 (average); more if editing is involved

By project: rates may vary depending on the complexity of the project. I will communicate this up front.

Copyediting rates

Because copyediting is more involved than proofreading, the rate is higher. My rates are competitive and within industry guidelines.

By page: $4 (average)

By project: rate determined individually per project

Design Value

Flat rate* ranges from $30 – $60 per page; estimate after free initial consultation depends on complexity and design elements. Client provides content and graphics. Additional content and graphics will be researched and inserted upon request with possible variance to initial estimate and adjusted approval.

* Flat rate subject to change if scope of project changes, e.g., excessive revisions.

Repeat Rate: After initial newsletter design, I offer a discounted rate for repeat newsletters, e.g., monthly, quarterly, etc.

50% is due up front & balance due upon project completion.

Payment

Rate estimates are provided after project details are discussed. After estimate is approved and a 50% (nonrefundable) deposit is received, work begins on the project. If revisions are requested, they may impact the project timeline and price estimate. If so, a revised estimate will be provided for approval. Upon completion of the project, an invoice will be emailed for payment. Payment forms accepted include debit cards/major credit cards.
